Populus Alba is a roleplaying guild on the Dark Age of Camelot server Percival. We are a group of mature, like-minded individuals who are dedicated to Realm Defense and Companionship. This site will allow members and visitors alike to view news and information pertaining to the guild.

01/23/02 Guild Alliances and other news...

Populus Alba has recently entred an alliance with Seventh Seal. They are made up of good people whom many of you might have adventured with in the past. Welcome them as our own family and get to know them all.

As most of you have found out Cpt. Blanco has resigned his commission to head a new guild named Falcon Conclave. We were under agreement when he first joined Alba that he would be at liberty to leave our family to start his own when he was ready. It was a pleasure to have him and his kin, those including Jorddan, Kilinde, and Ktuur. We will be entering an alliance with this group of brave and trustred adventurers. Do not fear you will lose touch, they will be as one with us once again.

01/16/02 Promotions and Activities

Those due for promotions recieved them last night in a short ceremony outside the Eastern Gates of Camelot. The following were honored:

To Schola: Tern and Drai

To Turcopales: Etoh, Laillia, Mordire, Eleseth, Nelo, Alet, and Cadeor

The guild gathered afterward to purchase emblems for those recieving them for the first time and exchange equipment at the bank vaults. Congratulations once again!

01/15/02 New patch in place

For those not aware of it a new patch has gone live on the regular servers today. Some exciting changes and additions have been made. Read about it at Mythic's Camelot Herald site.

01/14/02 Rescheduled Guild Meeting and Promotions

As most of you found out the Promotions meeting we were to conduct on Sunday, 13 Jan, was cancelled and re-scheduled. Hibernian barbarians made a epic push to run down our frontier and take over our keeps. Populus Alba was represented honorably by several who heeded the call to arms. Due to the defense of our homeland the guild meet had to be cancelled. It is rescheduled for Tuesday, 15 Jan, 7:00PM EST. If you cannot make it contact a guild officer or myself, Sheres, so we can mark you as unavailable. Check the message boards for those that should be present to recieve honors. Long live Alba!

01/10/02 Guild Tithe

On 13 Jan the tithe system will go into effect. As stated in the guild charter it will be 10% of your current coin holdings. It will be collected every week and held by myself, Sheres. The amount is not large at all and all of the collected monies go towards guild activities, equipment and dyes, guild hall one day perhaps?! If I am not available to collect the tithe make your deposit to a guild officer or NCO. It looks like there will be a guild deposit box one day in the game. Once that is implemented we will switch over to that. Long live Alba!

01/10/02 Website Updates and other changes

The site has been updated over the past two days to show correct information in the Charter, Membership, and Rank pages.

If you haven't noticed I have placed below our active members an inactive member section. These characters have generally been absent for a month or so.

The Charter was listing the Grail as our guild emblem still. That is corrected. Before we had an emblem the Grail was going to represent us as it did the Albion realm. It wasn't available so we now wear the crossed swords representing the four races and cultures of Ablion. Please make sure to read our Charter and bring up any questions you might have to a guild officer.

The rank for Huscarl has been changed. Huscarls will now be known as Schola; the Latin word for "elite soldier". The change was brought about as to not confuse the Midgard keep guard "Huscarl" with our own population. The changes will be in game within the next day or two.

Remember to register and read the Guild Message boards. Valuable information and equipment is listed there, don't miss out!

01/07/02 New Guild Officers and other news!

To better support our growing numbers and to recognize their service and dedication to the guild, two new officers have been added to the ranks. Blanco and Grimbeorn are now at the rank of Captain! They have increased responsibilities and are available to assist those in need. They also have gained the right to invite potential recruits into the guild, a task not to be taken lightly. Our high standards in membership have been recognized and we can only get better. Some of our recruits have also earned the right to wear the Populus Alba emblem: Kilinde, Harlei, Tryr, Padoc, Wiks, Bohemund were all promoted to Turcoples. Congratulate all when you see them.

A long time ally of the guild, Drai, has joined Alba and has been given the right to wear our symbol proudly. Welcome him warmly. Our guild colors for garb have been decided. Red is the color for all. Black and Red mixed for the officers. Our Turcopliers and Sergeants are still in the works and suggestions are being taken.

Once again, you all looked sharp and the guild was in full force, attendance to Sundays promotions was the best yet. Now if we can get the whole guild on at one time, that would be truly impressive! Congratulations once again to the newly promoted. You earned it well.

01/02/02 Promotions and updates!

Congratulations to the newly promoted! Captain Valvan is now Field Marshal Valvan, third in command of the guild. Grimbeorn and Vohari are now Sergeants at Arms. Kaelis and Faustaff have been promoted to Huscarl. Striecker, Galaldin, Juliee, Cadeor, and Lirrel have passed the observation period and were promoted to Turcopales! Once agian, good job.

As you might have notice the page has been updated. Thanks goes out to Shelby (my wife ;)) for the clean up and links. New graphics designed by her are in the works and I believe you all will be impressed! By the way I hope you all had a good holiday period and I wish the best for you all.

12/23/01 Guild Colors

Our guild colors have been corrected! If you have an item that was emblazoned it must be re-done. Members level 20 and above can do this at the Emblemeer in the city of Camelot. So if you find that your emblem is lost ask a member of the guild to correct that for you.

12/21/01 Frontier action and other news

Our guild spent another night in Hibernia and with positive results. If you have checked the guild's standing, we have increased our realm point ranking two-fold. Good work to those who participated and to those a bit young, don't worry we'll get you in there as soon as possible! The site now has a message board, feedback is encouraged. Mail me if it doesn't seem to work correctly. I have posted a couple of topics I would like all to browse over. Enter the boards here.

12/20/01 Transcripts of Meeting

Thanks to those who could make it to the meeting Wednesday night. I believe it was a success and a lot of good information was put out and discussed. Congratulations to the following who were promoted:

They have passed the observation period and were rewarded with the guild emblem. I have posted a transcript of the meeting which you can read here . Thanks once again.



12/19/01 Meeting Itinerary

To start off the meeting we will fall into formation outside of the Guild Register and Emblemeer hall to conduct promotions. Newly promoted individuals will then be lined up to receive service from the Emblemeer. Sheres and officers will take the items from members and pay for the service. After we finishing frocking the newly promoted, the guild will move to the Round Table to conduct business. Discussions will include, assisting the younger members in learning, equipment, and Frontier tactics. Following the closing of the meeting it is encouraged by all members to head to the vaults and distribute "hand-me-downs" to guild members. This should be an enjoyable event for all and a good chance to meet in full force. It should also be mentioned that there will be guests at this meeting so good behavior is in order. See you all there!

12/17/01 Populus Alba First Official Meeting and Promotions

Along with the adventuring and companionship we all enjoy being a part of Alba there is also the administrative side. We will have our first meeting in the great city of Camelot at the Round Table. It is dated 19 Dec at 9:00PM EST. At this meeting we will discuss the direction the guild is heading, ideas of improvements from all members, and of course, Promotions! I would appreciate all efforts to attend the gathering. I will keep it short and sweet, to the point. Afterwards promoted members will be assigned guild emblems, they have earned, to wear with pride.

12/16/01 Recruitment

Recruitment is going well, we have approximately 28 members in the guild. Remember all are welcome to recommend an individual for entrance into the guild. I just ask that you spend a little bit of time talking to the person/people before officially submitting names. Net talk, save for the exception of emoticons, are discouraged. We are a roleplaying guild on a roleplay server, let's try to keep our play within that context. If the potential recruit seems to have trouble with speech (i.e., i c u d00d, kewl, ty, etc...) please reconsider the recommendation. Thank you.

12/13/01 Guild Charter

The first draft of the guild charter written before the conception of the guild and is available for viewing from this link. As the clan grows, we will most likely amend our charter to reflect changes in the world. In the future a "dues" section will be added to cover the costs of guild expenses and the like.

12/13/01 Guild emblem registered!



Thanks goes out to all who contributed to the Emblem pool. Special thanks to the following: Valvan (Huge donation!) Zantar, Vohari & Elros. With additional donations from Cpt Valvan and Vohari, and new contributions by Cpt Hawkens, Tern and Grimbeorn, I visited the Guild Emblemeer and Guild Register and submitted our emblem. After cutting through bueracracy and turning over funds we emblazoned our first cape. Vohari and myself modeled the cloak to get a good look at it and debated whether or not the red was actually red. As it turns out the color I selected was a burnt, or burgundy red. It does good to symbolize the blood it represents, but I would like to get feedback. Once again, thank you all for the support you displayed to the guild with this mission. We can now wear our emblem with pride and let the world know we are now an established guild.

***Notice***
After reviewing the guild emblem at the guild registry at Camelot Herald, it looks like I made a mistake in colors. I will attempt to make an appeal (beg, plead, etc...) and get the red we expected! I apologize for any trauma I might have caused.
